Weldtool E308/308L-16 is an electrode designed to run on direct current, reversed polarity as well as alternating current. The weld deposit containts a maxiumum of .04% carbon, which minimizes the formaation of chromium carbides, and consequent susceptibility to integranular corrosion. This electrode is used to weld base metal of similar composition such as AISI 301, 302, 304, 304L, 305, 308, 308L and 347. This dual classification will help eliminate redundancy. Made in USA in an ISO 9001 facility.
